The ART of Effective Communication
ARTICULATION:
Hello, my name is Jacqueline Proszynski and welcome to my e-portfolio! I am a proud student at the Pennsylvania State University, class of 2016. As a Pscyhology and Sociology double major, I hope to one day be a successful Clinical Psychologist. That being said, as member of the College of Liberal Arts I have the chance to become a cohort of the prestigious Paterno Fellows Program. A vital requirement for Paterno Fellows' members is receiving the Excellence in Communication Certificate, and this e-portfolio is designed to help me accomplish that goal.
Superior communication skills are crucial for success in academic and social settings alike. Although this may seem like a no-brainer, few seem to realize that effectively articulating our ideas and opinions is a unique art form that has a powerful influence on individuals and society as a whole. In fact, one might even say sharing information and conversing is the most significant part of our daily lives. Each and every one of us absorbs and spreads knowledge as we read, write, watch, talk, and listen to one another. Therefore, I comprised this e-portfolio with my work in various mediums, ranging from the classic written paper to more modern video projects, in order to demonstrate communication in different forms.
ABOUT ME
Under the Academic Papers tab, I have posted a variety of my written works. I enjoy learning new things, and writing about unexplored topics provides the opportunity to enhance my knowledge and spread it to others. Therefore, the material covered by papers vary from environmental issues to more analytical pieces.
Clicking on the Multi Media tab will bring you to my video projects, and podcast. Using these methods of communication incorporates the tone and inflection components of conversation as we express our thoughts, adding another dimension to language.
Although the old cliche "A picture is worth a thousand words" is over used and mundane, it still holds a lot of truth. Art is a powerful mode of communication, and it is one of my favorite things do. The tab Artwork displays some of my drawings and paintings that I created with the purpose of conveying specific messages, mainly about society.
Finally, clicking on the Blogging tab will display idea exchange and spreading on the internet, which has become quite a substantial mode of idea transferring in the past coupe decades.
Effective communication itself is an art form that encompasses a variety of mediums for people to explore. Throughout my freshman year at Penn State I have cultivated my skills and abilities with the help of some truly amazing professors and I hope you enjoy the academic works posted on my e-portfolio!
